2017 wine year

What a year! From a mild winter to an icy week at the end of April to an exceptionally hot and dry summer, this vintage had a few pitfalls to offer. Our vineyards mastered this extreme situation with flying colors and produced excellent grapes. The fact that we were able to achieve our goal is certainly due to our experience, but also to the fact that we have no young vineyards. We started our harvest about a week earlier than usual and finished it, again 1-2 weeks earlier than usual, on September 23rd.

We are very satisfied with the quality – unfortunately a little less with the quantity. The young musts show themselves with a great freshness and enormous abundance of aromas.
