The 2002 wine year was characterized by a dry winter and spring. Fortunately, the desired rainfall occurred in May, replenishing the soil’s water reserves. This allowed the young shoots to undergo a normal ripening process.<\/p>\n
The dry June triggered a slowdown in the vegetation process. The ripening process proceeded normally, despite the continuous rainfall throughout the summer, which favored the development of Botrytis. Through extensive thinning to allow the grapes maximum air circulation, we were able to counteract the botrytis pressure in time. September was initially characterized by abundant rainfall. Afterwards, sunny days followed, with large temperature fluctuations between day and night. The yield averaged around 5,500 kg\/ha.<\/p>\n
The grapes have a high sugar content and intense aromas. We are confident that we will be able to produce top wines with the 2002 vintage as well.<\/p>\n
