When you think of Tuscany, you think of elegant and complex red wines. Of course, these also play a central role for us with six labels. All are harmonious and elegant in themselves, but have their very own character. We are also a little proud of our delicate rosé and Il Bianco, which proves how fresh and structured a Tuscan white wine can be.
Our top wine perfectly embodies the unmistakable identity of our winery and our vision of winemaking, which is based on an uncompromising commitment to quality and great respect for the environment.
Chianti Classico Riserva
Made 80 percent from our best Sangiovese, the Chianti Classico Riserva reflects the elegance and charm of this grape variety so typical of Tuscany. A wine that proves how complex Sangiovese can be. The cuvée is refined by 20% Merlot.
The Chianti Classico – the only Brancaia red wine that can do without wood – pays homage to our terroir. The single-variety Sangiovese, which is also suitable for a slightly cooler drink, impresses with its simplicity and the ripe, so typical cherry fruit aroma.
The Ilatraia is our top product from the Maremma – and despite the use of grape varieties originally from Bordeaux, a typical representative of this region. This is due to the fact that the grapes – 40 percent each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot and 20 percent Cabernet Franc – thrive here perfectly without irrigation and thus develop the local typicality we always strive for through the connection to the soil.
This one hundred percent from relatively young vines has its origin in our winery in Maremma. He should help to make the exciting, coastal growing area even better known. The easily accessible wine matures for twelve months in used tonneaux.
The TRE brings together grapes from all three Brancaia sites – Maremma, Castellina and Radda in Chianti. There are no grapes intended for him from the start. Everyone is taken care of just as much as those who end up in the flagship wines Il BLU and Ilatraia.
White wines usually play a minor role in Tuscany. We are all the more proud of our Il Bianco, which seems to us even better with each vintage and has developed very well over time.
As bright as our rosé made from 100 percent Merlot shines, it also tastes fresh, fruity and elegant. The grapes for this dance-like light wine with nice acidity and grapefruit aroma come from the vineyards in the Maremma, unlike red wine, we harvest them a little earlier in order to get less alcohol and a light structure and said light color.
The grapes for our Spumante VdQ are harvested exclusively by hand and produced according to the elaborate traditional method.
The Stella is characterized by a clear bouquet with subtle aromas, pleasant brioche and almond notes. On the palate it is filigree, pointed and with a first-class fine perlage.
