The year 2009 was characterized by average temperatures and rainfall. As a result, the soil’s water reserves were able to replenish optimally.
Thanks to the rather hot and dry summer, the potential for fungal diseases was so low that the number of treatments could be significantly reduced.
From mid-August onwards, there were large fluctuations between day and night temperatures, a factor that was extremely helpful for the perfect ripening of the grapes. The grapes reached a perfect physiological ripeness, a good acid structure and great aromatic complexity.

We are open for visits and tastings at our winery in Radda in Chianti from Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Weekend visits are by appointment only.
Osteria Brancaia in Radda will be closed from January 7. We will come back in March 2026.
Bar Brancaia in Castellina is closed and will reopen on February 14, 2026. A special San Valentine’s menu will be waiting for you!
